A message from the new FoML President (cont'd)
I hope to help create an ongoing flow of ideas and encouragement as your president; learning who among you has found innovative and effective ways of supporting your local library, while also creating a climate where anyone who belongs will feel free to ask for help when looking for a better way to get something accomplished.
One of the concrete things I hope to accomplish is the creation of a ‘friends kit’ that we can give to anyone interested in starting a friends group. In a perfect world, it would contain, sample bylaws, suggested officers, suggestions for recruitment strategies, a list of frequently asked questions and some brief examples of things Maine Friends groups have done in the past few years that were boffo ideas.
