When
The Going gets Tough-Start a Friends Group
Faced with a
potential budget cut which would equal her book budget, Lawrence
Public Library director decided it was time to start a Friends group.
She invited current FOML president and fellow public librarian,
John Clark to address the group at the initial meeting which was
attended by more than twenty enthusiastic patrons and members of
the Fairfield community.
In addition
to their annual book sale, Lou and her new friends group are looking
at creative ways to stretch and add to the library budget.
If your Friends group has an innovative idea for
supporting your library or enhancing existing revenue sources, the
FOML Executive Board would love to hear about them so we can share
them with other Maine groups.
